DAL: CHHAs - Physician Orders & Plan of Care

DOH has posted a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) on the Health Commerce System to remind certified home health agencies (CHHAs) of the certain regulatory requirements, including the provision of services per the physician orders, and the patient's right to be notified and involved in all proposed changes in their care. The DAL further clarifies the both the physician and patient involvement in the plan of care. It clearly states in this DAL that the CHHA must give advance notice to the patient before care is provided and before any changes in the plan of care.  The last part of the DAL clarifies Medicaid fair hearing requirements.  Please refer to the DAL for complete details.
