Revising Home Health Agencies Conditions of Participation is Under Review
LeadingAge New York learned the final rule to revise the Conditions of Participation (CoPs) that home health providers must meet to participate in Medicare and Medicaid is under review by the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
The OMB started reviewing the rule on May 6th, according to the government's regulation tracking website, reginfo.gov.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed version (79 Fed. Reg. 61,164) of the rule in Oct. 2014. Comments were due in Dec. 2014, but were extended until Jan. 2015. LeadingAge NY discussed suggested changes and concerns with other state affiliates and comments were submitted.
The last time CMS updated the CoPs for home health agencies was in 1989.
