Comment Period Extended for Home Health Proposed Rule

LeadingAge New York is pleased to announce that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the comment period by 30 days on a proposed rule updating Medicare and Medicaid Conditions of Participation (CoPs) for Home Health Agencies (HHAs). The comment period was scheduled to end next week on Dec. 8, but now with the extension, comments can be received up to Jan. 7, 2015.

The notice was published in the Dec. 1 Federal Register. CMS stated in the notice it was extending the comment deadline because industry organizations “needed additional time to respond to the rule due to the complex nature of the proposed revisions.” LeadingAge NY has had several calls with LeadingAge to discuss concerns of the proposed rule. There will be another call this week, so please continue to share your concerns or questions.

LeadingAge NY analyzed the proposed rule and will keep members posted of any additional changes.
