ROUTE TO:

Administrators, Program Directors

ABSTRACT: DOH announces requirements for CHRC starting June 15.

A Dear Administrator letter (DAL) from the Department of Health (DOH) has been issued notifying health care providers about implementation and new requirements of the Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) program. Starting June 15, 2009, CHRC will require electronic fingerprinting (Live Scan) for all unlicensed prospective employees who are subject to DOH criminal history record check review. For your convenience, the DAL is attached to this memo.

Throughout the implementation process, NYAHSA has been communicating members’ questions and concerns to DOH.  Members are encouraged to share their experiences with us, as we will remain engaged in discussions with the department as this new process unfolds.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the contents of this memo, contact Elliott Frost by phone at (518) 449-2707, ext. 140 or efrost@nyahsa.org or Anne Hill at ext. 141 or ahill@nyahsa.org.
