LeadingAge NY discusses draft audit protocols for CHHAs with OMIG

LeadingAge NY and other associations met with the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) on Jan. 7 to discuss the 34 draft audit protocols for Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs).  There are 12 new protocols in addition to the 22 that were proposed in 2008. The discussion was productive as we work to arrive at final protocols that are flexible and reasonable in terms of standards and reimbursement.  We are working to ensure that the audit process reflects the agreements that came from the OMIG work group, which LeadingAge NY was a part of.   The OMIG is considering our recommendations, and we will discuss further before the protocols are finalized.  We will keep members apprised of the developments.
