Input sought on CHHA audit protocols

LeadingAge New York has been asked by the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) to provide comments on the audit protocols for Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs). There are 34 newly proposed audit protocols compared to 22 that were proposed in 2008. The protocols cover billing (8), authorized signatures (2), assessments (6), plan of care (6), medical needs (1), supervision visits (2), maximizing third party (1), CHRC (1), training/certification (5) and other issues.  LeadingAge NY is in the process of analyzing the numerous audit protocols and will advise members accordingly.
