Associations join to comment on CHHA audit protocols

LeadingAge NY and other associations have joined together and submitted a joint memo to the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) on draft Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) audit protocols. This memo is in response to our earlier meeting with OMIG, where we discussed our concerns.  After the meeting, OMIG sent out a revised CHHA audit protocol for comment. We remain concerned on several issues such as: Total or partial disallowance of claims, flexibility with time frames, the role of the OMIG nurse and the role of OMIG and the DOH surveillance team.

We have requested additional time for a more targeted, protocol specific review. Please review the draft CHHA audit protocols and let me know your concerns so we can incorporate them into our comments.
