This DAL reminds CHHAs of providing home health services pursuant to physician orders, notification in advance of any changes with the plan of care and fair hearing rights. 

Thirty-two percent of home health claims that required a Face-to-Face (F2F) encounter did not meet Medicare requirements.

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) Report to Congress includes recommendations relevant to home health care and hospice.

The Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2014 provides brief descriptions of activities that OIG plans to initiate or continue with respect to HHS programs and operations. Focus areas include hospice, home health services, medical equipment and supplies and state claims for federal reimbursement. 

DOH posted a Dear Administrator Letter to the HCS outlining the requirements that need to be followed when home health services are being provided in a managed care plan.

Home health agencies are now required to use the Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN) (CMS-R-131).
