State Issues New Medicaid Update, Including Medicaid Telehealth Policy Manual

(July 9, 2024) The NYS Department of Health (DOH) Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP) has released the May 2024 Medicaid Update. The issue was posted in early July 2024. New topics included in the issue are below. Members should note the recently issued Medicaid Telehealth Policy Manual, which includes a comprehensive overview of the policy, including modes of telehealth and their corresponding billing codes. DOH is working on clarifications to policy regarding home and community-based services (HCBS) providers. They will be issuing new guidance regarding the use of telehealth in home care and hospice soon and are working on clarifying the use of telehealth in Assisted Living Programs (ALPs) and for adult day health care (ADHC) registrants.
