New Resource on Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation

The United States Department of Justice Elder Justice Initiative developed a website that serves as a forum to share information and resources. The website is another tool to fight elder abuse and financial exploitation.

The website offers resources for:

• victims of elder abuse and financial exploitation and their families;
• practitioners who serve them;
• law enforcement agencies and prosecutors; and
• researchers seeking to understand and address this silent epidemic plaguing our Nation's elders.

Additionally, as you scroll down this page, you will see an online course entitled, Nursing Response to Elder Mistreatment Curriculum (2010) from the International Association of Forensic Nurses that provides nurses with the essential knowledge and skills needed to respond to cases of elder mistreatment in an appropriate and efficient manner.
