CDC COCA Call – Fungal Disease Awareness Week

Fungal Disease Awareness Week runs from September 15–19, 2025, and the CDC is calling on healthcare professionals to raise awareness about the growing impact of fungal infections—many of which are misdiagnosed, underreported, and increasingly resistant to treatment.

The CDC’s Social Media Toolkit offers ready-to-use graphics, outreach messages, and educational materials for both the public and healthcare providers. Each day of the week highlights a different fungal disease topic, encouraging clinicians to “Think Fungus” when symptoms don’t improve with standard treatment.

COCA Call: Drug-Resistant Candida

Join the CDC’s COCA Call on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2:00–3:00 PM ET, focused on the rise of antifungal resistance in Candida auris and Candida parapsilosis. Experts will share testing recommendations and treatment strategies.
