Urge the Governor to Sign ALP-Hospice Legislation Today!
LeadingAge NY has been advocating for the approval of legislation that would enable a Medicaid-eligible assisted living program (ALP) resident to access hospice services. The bill, A.10459-A (Lupardo)/S.8353-A (Hannon), passed the Legislature and has just been delivered to the Governor for consideration. The Governor has until Fri., Dec. 28, 2018 to act on the bill, so it is critical that he hear from people who care about this issue now!
We have made it very easy to send a message; simply click here and enter your address to generate a message. You can amend the message to personalize it and share why the issue is important to you and the people you care for. You may also share the link with other New York State residents who might care about the issue such as colleagues, board members, residents, and families. You’ll see that the page also has a link to post a message on Twitter, which will help get the word out and magnify your voice.
It is critical that the Governor hear from you now, even if you have previously advocated on this issue, as he must decide whether or not to sign the bill in the next 10 days. Urge him to sign this critical legislation today!
