SSI Recipients Will Get a Modest Cost of Living Increase in 2014

The 2014 benefit levels chart for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) reflects a 1.5 percent cost of living increase, effective Jan. 1. For SSI recipients that reside in Adult Care Facilities (ACFs), categorized as Congregate Care Level 3 on the chart, this means an increase in the monthly benefit from $1,404 to $1,415.  The personal needs allowance is increased from $187 to $190 per month.  DOH will be issuing a Dear Administrator letter later this month, which will provide ACFs with the proper information to provide notice to residents that receive SSI.  Click here to view the chart.
