Regulatory Reform Initiative for ACF/AL Looks at Food Service Regulations

What would you change about the food services regulations, if you could?  Food service is the section of regulations that LeadingAge New York is working on in our regulatory reform efforts with the Department of Health (DOH) and other stakeholders. We are looking specifically at food services regulations in title 18 NYCRR, sections 487.8 (adult homes), 488.8 (enriched housing programs) and 492.7 (day programs for non-residents provided by adult care facilities). We have already begun a review, and will likely conclude this section at our meeting on Oct. 23, 2015. So, if you have suggestions, questions or ideas about the regulations and how they can be updated, clarified, etc. let us know as soon as possible.

This discussion is part of our ongoing work on the Redefining Adult Care Facilities for the 21st Century workgroup. The group has been meeting on a regular basis for months, and will continue to do so as we review regulations for all categories of adult care facility and assisted living facilities to update, consolidate and simplify regulation. We encourage member comments and suggestions on any section of regulation. Members are also welcome to participate in our member workgroup, which helps inform our work on the DOH workgroup. Let us know if you are interested!
