NYAM Hosts Virtual Summit on Infection Prevention, Seeks Input from Clinicians
LeadingAge NY members are invited to participate in a virtual summit of global leaders in the field of infection prevention and control in long term care facilities convened by The New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM). NYAM is also looking for feedback from front-line caregivers working in New York City nursing homes on infection prevention efforts.
The infection prevention and control summit will be held twice to accommodate audiences in different geographic regions and time zones:
- Dec. 2nd from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET, which will focus on North America and Europe (register here)
- Dec. 8th from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET, which will focus on North America, Asia, and Australia (register here)
The goals of the summit are to: (1) critically examine evidence-based practice guidelines for infection prevention and control in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities; (2) understand key barriers to implementing these best practices; and (3) propose sustainable regional and global solutions. This summit is intended for professionals who work in long term care, including administrators, clinicians, regulators, researchers, and policymakers.
Another element of NYAM’s infection prevention initiative is to obtain qualitative input from front-line staff. NYAM is looking for certified nursing assistants and nurses in New York City nursing homes to talk about infection prevention efforts in nursing homes. See https://nursinghomeinterview.questionpro.com or call 212-822-7372 for more information on eligibility. Participants will receive a $50 VISA gift card.
