Member ACFs Are Asked to Complete LeadingAge NY Survey Regarding Customer Satisfaction

(Dec. 30, 2024) As LeadingAge NY reported earlier this month, Governor Hochul signed the “Assisted Living Residence (ALR) Quality Measures” bill into law. While we know that there will be some amendments to the law modifying the timeframes, we anticipate that things will begin to move quickly to implement the requirements of the law, which are described in this article. The Department of Health (DOH) has already convened a workgroup to help inform the development of quality measures, and the first meeting of that group is Jan. 6th. LeadingAge NY member Andrea Hebert, Vice President of Eddy Senior Living, and Diane Darbyshire of LeadingAge NY will serve on the DOH workgroup.

In anticipation of the law being passed, LeadingAge NY convened our own member workgroup several months ago to develop ideas for quality measures. One of the issues that the workgroup has been discussing is “customer satisfaction,” as that is a key indicator of quality. For that reason, we would like to learn more about what our adult care facility (ACF)/assisted living (AL) members are already doing to measure satisfaction, to help inform our thinking regarding any potential quality measure in this area.

To assist us in this endeavor, we are asking all LeadingAge NY ACF/AL members to complete this brief survey.

The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Please have someone complete this survey who is familiar with any satisfaction survey process you do for your ACF or AL setting(s). Please complete the survey even if you are not currently doing any satisfaction survey. If your organization has multiple sites, please complete one for each site. While the aforementioned legislation relates to ALRs, Enhanced ALRs (EALRs), and Special Needs ALRs (SNALRs), we are asking all ACF/AL members to complete the survey because we anticipate that we will see this effort broaden in the future to all ACF/AL settings. While we ask for your name and contact information, we will share results with the member workgroup in the aggregate, without sharing any identities.

If possible, please complete the survey by close of business on Mon., Jan. 6th.
