Group Calls for Better Information for Consumers Regarding Assisted Living Options
Stakeholders gathered in an effort funded by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and made recommendations regarding the future of public reporting for assisted living and similar models of care. Fundamentally, the group recommends that consumers have access to more objective information to compare options. While New York’s adult care facility and assisted living providers collect some data, these recommendations—if adopted—would require additional reporting. Assisted living is certainly getting additional attention recently and such measures may be a vehicle to help show the public and potential partners the value of LeadingAge New York providers’ services.
