Don't Miss Navigating the Assisted Living Program Workshop!

(March 31, 2026) LeadingAge NY is delighted to be working with Substantial Compliance Consulting Group to offer a comprehensive full-day training, Navigating the Assisted Living Program (ALP), on April 20th from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Loretto’s Sedgwick Heights in Syracuse.

The program is appropriate for Operators, Administrators, ALP Program Coordinators, Licensed Home Care Services Agency (LHCSA) Registered Nurse (RN) Directors, Uniform Assessment System (UAS) RNs, ALP Nurses, and Case Managers. Up to six hours of continuing education credit (CEUs) for adult care facility/assisted living (ACF/AL) professionals is available, and this program has also been submitted for six National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) CEUs.

Here are some topics that will be addressed in the training:

  • Introduction and Overview of the ALP
  • The Role of the RN Director in the LHCSA
  • The Roles of the LHCSA/UAS Nurse and Case Manager in the ALP
  • LHCSA Surveyor Expectations

This training can serve as a useful review to ensure compliance, even for those who have been working in the ALP for some time. It is also useful for those new to the ALP or contemplating starting an ALP. This program will highlight the unique structure of the ALP, which is critical to understand to successfully operate the program.
