DOH Issues Opportunity for Transitional Adult Homes to Get ALP Beds

DOH has announced the opportunity for transitional adult homes to convert to Assisted Living Program (ALP) beds. This opportunity is limited to only those homes that meet the transitional adult home criteria; adult homes with a certified capacity of eighty (80) beds or more in which twenty-five percent or more of the resident population are persons with serious mental illness as defined by 18 NYCRR § 487.2(c) as of Sept. 1, 2012. A list of eligible applicants can be found here. Materials are due to DOH by 4 p.m., Sept. 30, 2013. Click here to view the Solicitation of Interest (SOI). Questions should be directed to ALP4500@health.ny.gov by Aug. 14, 2013.

A future opportunity for ALP beds will be coming out in the months to come, in which the eligible applicant pool will be much broader.
