DOH Issues DAL to ACFs Regarding Communicable Disease Reporting Requirements

(Feb. 3, 2025) The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) to adult care facilities (ACFs) regarding requirements for timely reporting of potential communicable disease outbreaks to the local health department, in addition to reporting to DOH via the Incident Reporting System. The DAL provides guidance regarding using the Incident Reporting System and provides categories and examples of illnesses and infections that should be reported to the Department, including some that should be reported within 24 hours of diagnosis. Lastly, the DAL encourages providers to use the local health department as a resource and provides this webpage to access contact information.
