Adult Portable Bed Handles Recall

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a notice that Bed Handles Inc. is re-announcing their recall of adult portable bed handles following a report of the fourth entrapment death related to the product. When attached to an adult’s bed without the use of safety retention straps, the handle can shift out of place, creating a dangerous gap between the bed handle and the side of the mattress. This poses a serious risk of entrapment, strangulation and death. The New York State Department of Health wanted to ensure that providers were aware of and acted upon the recall, if applicable.
