ACFs Receive Funding for CHRC and EQUAL
The Department of Health (DOH) reports that adult care facilities (ACFs) have been paid for criminal history record checks (CHRCs) through 2019. The Department is now working on 2020 payments; however, it is unknown when that process will be complete.
Additionally, members have reported receiving funds that we believe are Enhancing the Quality of Adult Living (EQUAL) Program payments. We are awaiting confirmation from DOH that all EQUAL payments have gone out. In many cases, the amount of money received is not what was expected. Given that EQUAL was newly bifurcated into two separate funding streams, we were uncertain how the funding would be allocated, and the Department has not provided any insights. This, along with the impacts of the pandemic on providers and the very short timeframe for submission of the application, made it difficult to predict how the funding would ultimately be allocated. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. As a reminder, EQUAL funds must be expended within a year of receipt, consistent with the plans outlined to the Department. An amendment to the spending plan must be approved by the Department.
