Online Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan Training Available to ACFs and Nursing Homes
The New York State Department of Health (DOH) Office of Health Emergency Preparedness (OHEP) is providing online training for adult care facilities (ACFs) and nursing homes to provide information and tools to develop a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). The training is designed to help providers prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and manmade disasters. The training is appropriate for any personnel that will be involved in facility-level emergency planning.
This online training is a great resource for those who did not attend the in-person CEMP training offered in the spring. There is no need to repeat the course if you attended the in-person session. Those who took the in-person training can also access the material, however, by logging into the Learning Management System (LMS) and clicking on “My Courses,” “Completed Courses,” and then “Post-Completion Content.”
Click here to access more information regarding the training. Please note that when you register via the LMS, as referenced in the announcement, you can choose between Nursing Home or Adult Care Facility. Participants are encouraged to complete FEMA ICS-100.C online before completing the CEMP training.
OHEP encourages you to take this online training to help ensure that your comprehensive plan is as effective as possible for the wellbeing of your residents, staff, and organization in the event of an emergency.
