DOH Offers Additional IOC Drill Webinar Scheduled for Aug. 2nd
As LeadingAge NY previously shared, the Department of Health (DOH) will be conducting a Statewide Interoperable Communications (IOC) drill the week of Aug. 12-16, 2019. The drill is being conducted in conjunction with a federal exercise sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) entitled Crimson Contagion. The drill is voluntary and open to several provider types statewide, including adult care facilities (ACFs), nursing homes, and home care providers.
DOH scheduled two informational webinars to discuss the drill and answer questions from providers. The Department experienced technical difficulties during the first webinar scheduled for July 23rd. The Department apologizes for this inconvenience and has thus scheduled an additional webinar for Fri., Aug. 2nd at 1 p.m. Please note that the Department will close the webinar at 1 p.m. so that latecomers will be unable to join; please join 15 minutes early to avoid being closed out. Click here to see the Aug. 2nd Webinar Instructions document for information to join that webinar. The previously scheduled webinar on Tues., July 30th from 2 to 3 p.m. will proceed. Click here for more information about the drill and instructions to join that webinar. The webinar will also be recorded.
Click here for a blank After-Action Report/Improvement Plan template, which you may use as documentation of the drill, if you wish.
Questions about the drill should be directed to Pat Anders, Exercise Manager, Office of Health Emergency Preparedness, DOH, at Patricia.anders@health.ny.gov.
