DOH Issues DAL Regarding Hot Weather for ACF/AL Providers

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued its annual hot weather advisory Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) to adult care facilities (ACFs). The DAL reminds ACF and assisted living providers of their requirements to maintain a safe and comfortable temperature. The letter provides information including steps to be taken by ACFs in warm weather, steps to prevent and manage heat-related conditions, and medications that may make a resident more sensitive to heat. This information is to be posted in a conspicuous area in your facility that is accessible to both staff and residents.
