DOH Issues DAL for ACFs Regarding MOLST

The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) outlining its policy regarding adult care facilities (ACFs) and assisted living providers and the Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (MOLST) form. The DAL clarifies current policy and highlights the MOLST as a useful tool for residents to articulate their wishes regarding treatment. The ACF or assisted living provider continues to be bound by the licensure and certification status with regard to what they can offer someone, however. Click here to view the DAL.
