DOH Issues SNALR Cost of Care Survey
The Department of Health (DOH) sent the below message to all Special Needs Assisted Living Residences (SNALRs) in the state last week for the purposes of updating their voucher payment rates for participants, which are based on the regional cost of care. DOH is asking all SNALRs to complete the survey, even if they do not participate in the program, by 4 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 22nd. See the message below for more information:
The Special Needs Assisted Living Residence (SNALR) Voucher Program for Persons with Dementia provides financial assistance to eligible SNALR residents with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia living in participating facilities. Under this program, the Department is authorized to pay up to 75 percent of the average regional monthly cost of a SNALR for program participants who have applied and been approved for the program in the region in which they reside. The program has been operating since 2018. The Department of Health is issuing this brief survey to all SNALRs to determine the costs for SNALR residents and to update its average regional monthly cost estimates for the program.
Individual responses will not be made public and specific facility rates will not be released. The information will be aggregated to the regional level and shared for the program’s purpose of determining appropriate voucher payments for participants. All SNALRs, even those not participating in the SNALR Voucher Program, are asked to respond to this survey so the Department can capture the most accurate cost estimates possible.
The survey is available here - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/snalr. Please respond to this survey no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 22.
