Guidance for ALPs on Retaining Chairfast Residents

The Department of Health issued a Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) outlining their expectations for Assisted Living Program (ALP) providers that choose to retain individuals who are chairfast. This guidance stems from a change in legislation that LeadingAge New York fought to get passed, which enables individuals to remain in an ALP environment longer. We have been working to find ways to support the ALP in the context of a changing health care environment. Click here to view the DAL.
