Don't Rely on Chance - Join LeadingAge NY at the ALP Summit

Louis Pasteur probably wasn't thinking of assisted living when he said "chance favors the prepared mind," but it certainly applies. With so much change occurring, and even more on the horizon for Assisted Living Programs (ALPs), the prepared minds are sure to fare best. The good news is that LeadingAge NY has assembled an all-star team to prepare your organizations with what they need to know to operate in the current environment and provide critical considerations for success in the future environment. Below are the topics we'll touch on during the Fall ALP Summit.

  • Uniform Assessment Tool for the ALP: Now that we all have experience with UAS-NY, we can start to delve deeper into the tool. Scott Jill, DOH's UAS-NY program coordinator, will address concerns, issues, trends and answer questions from the audience.

  • Preparing to Contract: Considerations for the ALP: With enrollment of the ALP population into Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) on the horizon, now is the time to start preparing. ALPs will soon be presented with contracts as managed long term care plans develop their networks. Nancy Sever, principal at Hinman Straub, will give you key considerations and tips to consider when entering into a contractual agreement.

  • What Will the HCBS Settings Rule and MTLC Mean for the ALP? Mark Kissinger, DOH's director of the Division of Long Term Care, will discuss the federal home and community-based settings rule and its implications for the ALP, as well as the eventual transition of the ALP population into MLTC. Mr. Kissinger will also take questions from participants.
