LeadingAge NY Accepting Applications for MCHF-Funded "Journey to Excellence" DNS/DSW Mentoring Program
(Dec. 19, 2024) Is the workforce shortage and constant staff turnover affecting your facility? Do you find that your new leaders are coming to the table without deep experience and knowledge of long-term care? The new LeadingAge NY program “Journey to Excellence in Long-Term Care” may be the solution.
LeadingAge NY is pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for this new, free program funded by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. “Journey to Excellence in Long-Term Care” will consist of two 15-person cohorts, one for Directors of Nursing and one for Directors of Social Work. This nine-month program will consist of two in-person meetings (four hours each) and seven virtual (two hours each) meetings between March and November 2025.
Topics covered will include skills improvement to ensure competency; quality assurance procedures; the survey process; leading diverse teams to promote inclusion; providing care and services for vulnerable populations that enhance their quality of life, promote independence, and ensure dignity; providing culturally competent services; and staff training, relations, and supervision.
