With the arrival of flu season amid the COVID-19 pandemic and public division over preventative protocols, residents and staff at Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center took matters into their own hands, launching their first-ever Public Service Announcement (PSA) educational campaign. The 45-second PSA video highlights simple everyday practices to keep illness at bay while the nation awaits the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.

VillageCare Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Receives First Round of COVID-19 Vaccine

VillageCare Rehabilitation and Nursing Center received its first round of COVID-19 vaccinations on Jan. 3, 2021. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine was administered by CVS to 38 staff members and 38 patients who are at high risk for COVID-19.

Helen Merrill, a resident at The Village, a Heritage rehabilitation and skilled nursing community in Gerry, NY, recently celebrated two very memorable milestones in her life: her 101st birthday, and being one of the first Heritage residents to choose to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

On Dec. 14th and 15th, Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center hosted its first Festival of Lights drive-through event that included thousands of blue, gold and white lights arranged in a variety of scenes as well as inflatable menorahs, dreidels and more.
