NY nursing homes are in financial crisis. Our seniors deserve better (Guest Opinion) In a new opinion piece in The Post-Standard, Janet Dauley Altwarg, director of the Long Term Care Executive Council of Central New York (LTCEC), and Jack Pease, chair of the LTCEC and administrator at Loretto, on behalf of LTCEC members that include The Centers at St. Camillus, The Commons on St. Anthony, The Cottages at Garden Grove, Crouse Community Center, Finger Lakes Center for Living, Iroquois Nursing Home, Loretto Health & Rehabilitation Center, The Nottingham, Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, Rome Health Residential Healthcare Facility, Seneca Hill Manor, St. Luke Health Services, and Syracuse Home Association, call on Governor Hochul and state lawmakers to prioritize long term care in the next state budget by providing a 20 percent increase in the nursing home Medicaid rate.
