1st Annual Halloween Dog Parade Hosted For Gurwin Residents In Commack Residents of Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center were all smiles recently as staff brought their furry companions to strut their stuff in their first annual Halloween Dog Parade, complete with costumes, treats, and wagging tails.

Carter Specialty Hospital & Nursing Facility, and Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Center & Home – including five registered nurses nominated for the DAISY Award and five certified nursing assistants nominated for the in-house BEE Award.

7 New York nursing homes successfully deprescribe residents through United Hospital Fund partnership A United Hospital Fund collaboration with seven New York nursing homes – including ArchCare at Mary Manning Walsh Home; Gouverneur Healthcare Services Skilled Nursing Facility; Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; Hebrew Home at Riverdale; Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home, The Center for Comprehensive Nursing and Rehab; and The New Jewish Home – spurred an 8 percent decrease in the number of potentially harmful medications prescribed to residents.

Damm Serenity Garden Wartburg staff, residents, and families recently gathered for a Day of Remembrance to memorialize those who died in the past year. This annual tradition also includes a blessing of memorial and legacy gifts like bricks, benches, and trees. This year was especially significant because it included the dedication of the Rev. Dr. John S. Damm Serenity Garden at the newly opened Berkemeier Living Center.
