LeadingAge New York supports this legislation, which would establish a demonstration program allowing one or more Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plans that operate in rural counties and that have demonstrated success in transitioning individuals in need of a nursing home level of care from the nursing home to the community to enroll and manage the care of permanently placed nursing home residents for periods longer than three months.

LeadingAge New York supports this legislation because it aims to increase the amount certain individuals are eligible for when receiving enhances residential care. This legislation is an important first step toward improving the inadequate ACF reimbursement rate.

Provides for criminal history background checks of supportive maintenance employees in ACFs and assisted living facilities, similar to checks completed on nursing home employees.

LeadingAge New York supports this legislation, which would prohibit the establishment of new for-profit hospices and any increase in the capacity of existing for-profit hospices.
