Support Resident Assistants in Affordable Senior Housing!

(Dec. 10, 2024) The Resident Assistant program in affordable senior housing would provide support for 1,600 or more older adults every year by helping to connect them with existing programs and resources that promote their health and independence. Despite the proven benefits for residents, there is no State funding or program to support this model. To expand access to Resident Assistants in affordable senior housing buildings, LeadingAge NY is urging Governor Hochul to include a strategic and modest investment of $10 million in State funds over five years ($2 million per year) in her Executive Budget Proposal. This investment would ensure that low-income older adults receive the support they deserve to promote their overall wellbeing.

We need ALL affordable senior housing members and advocates to help vocalize their support for this critical budget request!

Take action TODAY to urge the Governor to fund and establish the Resident Assistant program in affordable senior housing!
