National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week

This week, Sept. 9-15, is National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week. Consumers who qualify for Lifeline Discount Telephone Services participate in one of many federal assistance programs or have income at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. The NYS Department of Public Service (DPS) has joined with other state agencies, human service organizations and local telephone companies to promote Lifeline Awareness Week and the importance of the program.
