LeadingAge NY Presents Testimony at Health/Medicaid Hearing

LeadingAge NY President/CEO, James W. Clyne Jr., along with the Department of Health, Office of the Medicaid Inspector General, provider and consumer agencies and advocates, testified at the Joint Legislative Budget Hearing on Health/Medicaid. LeadingAge NY testimony discusses adjusting the Medicaid global cap; capital for infrastructure investments, such as health information technology, telehealth and senior housing; appropriate funding for new and existing mandates, including wage parity, the UAS-NY assessment system and managed care contracting with home health agencies; restoration of arbitrary funding cuts that jeopardize the sustainability of essential providers; and assuring actuarially-sound premiums for managed long term care plans and rationalizing the transition to mandatory managed long term care. The committee did not have particular questions for Mr. Clyne, but noted that they would review the written testimony. LeadingAge NY will also be submitting testimony to the Joint Legislative Budget Committee on Housing.
