Funding opportunity from CMS

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a Funding Opportunity Announcement, earlier this week, for round two of the Health Care Innovation Awards. CMS will spend up to $1 billion for awards and evaluation of projects from across the country that test new payment and service delivery models that will deliver better care and lower costs for Medicare, Medicaid, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollees.

There are a couple of good opportunities for LeadingAge New York members to access the $1 billion investment including reducing costs of Medicare and/or Medicaid in post-acute settings and improving care for specialty populations.

Letters of Intent to Apply will be accepted beginning June 1 until June 28, 2013 3 p.m. EDT., and CMS will accept applications beginning June 14 until August 15, 2013 3pm EDT.
