AHHA Workgroup Update

LeadingAge NY and other stakeholders met yesterday, Feb. 23, to discuss remaining issues pertaining to the role of the Advanced Home Health Aide (AHHA). AHHA language was included again in this year's Executive Budget proposal. The workgroup, put together by the Department of Health (DOH), discussed the tasks of the AHHA; nurse supervision, including potential staffing ratios; and educational components.

LeadingAge NY and other provider organizations continues to inform DOH and other workgroup participants of the fiscal implications providers may face with regard to the AHHA, particularly when it comes to managed long term care. The workgroup is supposed to meet again early next week. We will update members as more information becomes available.
