Governor Signs Bill Prohibiting Wage Garnishment and Home Liens to Satisfy Medical Debt The new law prohibits hospitals, nursing homes, and health care professionals from collecting on money judgments for medical debt by entering a lien against a debtor's primary residence or garnishing the debtor's earnings.

Governor Hochul Convenes Extraordinary Session to Address Gun Safety Newly passed firearms legislation makes changes to laws pertaining to the “concealed carry” of firearms and identifies sensitive locations where it is prohibited to carry a concealed weapon, including health care facilities such as nursing homes and ACFs.
