In today’s message to the Legislature, Governor Andrew Cuomo identified several key initiatives that will provide benefits to New York’s senior population.

As Governor Cuomo trumpets a New Year’s increase in the state’s minimum wage, nearly 12,000 low-income New Yorkers relying on assisted living and adult care facility (ACF) services continue to face risk of their safety or unnecessary placement into a nursing home due to inadequate reimbursement, according to LeadingAge New York and the Empire State Association of Assisted Living (ESAAL).

Speech will begin at 1 pm and be streamed live on the Governor’s website.

Successful advocacy addressed key issues for members, but overall fiscal concerns remain.
