The removal of agency guidance creates confusion for housing providers looking for direction on complying with the Fair Housing Act and reduces protections for older adults experiencing housing discrimination.

In a letter to the Ad Hoc Committee on Nursing Home CON, the association described the financial pressures driving sales to for-profit operators and cautioned against over-broad restrictions and requirements that could have unintended consequences.

The CDC will host a webinar on Jan. 27^th that will “provide the latest information on how to prevent and respond to respiratory infections and outbreaks in LTC facilities, including how to recognize a sick resident, considerations for testing, treatment, and vaccination, and infection prevention and control measures.” The agency also continues to update resources on respiratory infections that will be helpful for nursing homes and other providers in addressing flu, COVID, and RSV outbreaks this winter.
