DOH Issues New Directives on COVID-19 Return to Work and Cohorting of Residents The new COVID-19-related "return to work" restrictions extend to 14 days the required duration of an employee's exclusion from work based on a positive COVID-19 test or symptoms. A second set of directives includes a requirement to cohort residents based on COVID-19-positive, negative, and unknown status and assign dedicated staff to COVID-19-positive and "non-positive" residents.

Guidance on Family Notification Any SNF, nursing home, or ACF licensed and regulated by the Commissioner of Health shall notify family members or next of kin for all residents if any resident tests positive for COVID-19, or if any resident suffers a COVID-19-related death, within 24 hours of such positive test result or death.
