On November 28, 2019 the last of the new nursing home requirements (Mega Rule) become effective.  Included in Phase 3 is the requirement that a nursing home have in place a “program, organization or system that is trauma-informed”.  Meaning that the nursing home recognizes the widespread impact of trauma, understands potential paths to recovery, and recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients, families, staff and others.
