Trauma-Informed Care Training

In order to prepare for and ensure compliance with the requirement, LeadingAge New York ProCare has developed a one-day* training program for nursing homes.  The training is based on materials developed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as well as other mental health providers and organizations. The session is interactive, utilizes experiences familiar to nursing home staff, promotes a greater understanding of how trauma relates to behavior and what role staff actions/inactions play in providing competent trauma-informed care.
