Health Care Personnel Required to Receive COVID-19 Boosters Under New DOH Regulation

The health care personnel booster mandate was approved on Jan. 11th by the Public Health and Health Planning Council and takes effect upon filing with the Department of State. DOH promised a slow roll-out that takes into account staffing shortages.

EO 4.3 extends multiple staffing flexibilities through Jan. 26, 2022; EO 11 allows the State Legislature to work virtually at their discretion and health care providers, including long term care facilities, to contract with a CLIA-certified lab that is not licensed in New York State.

The Adult Day Health Care Council (ADHCC) represents 130 medical model adult day health care (ADHC) programs, more than 90 percent of ADHC programs operating across New York State. ADHCC members serve more than 10,000 New Yorkers annually. We are the only organization that speaks exclusively for ADHC providers; we are dedicated to the continuation and expansion of adult day health care in an effort to meet the needs of the frail elderly, chronically ill, disabled adults and their caregivers. We offer our members outstanding operational and regulatory guidance along with state and federal advocacy and an array of educational events, useful products and resources.
