DOH Clarifies Guidance on Nursing Home Visits by Health Care Providers and Consultants

In emails, DOH has indicated that non-essential consultants and medically necessary health care providers may enter facilities that are otherwise closed to visitation, subject to meeting testing and screening requirements.

The Adult Day Health Care Council (ADHCC) represents 130 medical model adult day health care (ADHC) programs, more than 90 percent of ADHC programs operating across New York State. ADHCC members serve more than 10,000 New Yorkers annually. We are the only organization that speaks exclusively for ADHC providers; we are dedicated to the continuation and expansion of adult day health care in an effort to meet the needs of the frail elderly, chronically ill, disabled adults and their caregivers. We offer our members outstanding operational and regulatory guidance along with state and federal advocacy and an array of educational events, useful products and resources.
