Reminder: Deadline to Obtain Extension for ARPA Spending Is Feb. 1st

(Jan. 28, 2025) Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) programs and Assisted Living Programs (ALPs) that have received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and are concerned they will be unable to spend all of the funds by July 31, 2025 must email the Department of Health (DOH) requesting an extension to allow spending of funds past July 31st. The Department asks in their email communication to include reasons why the spending is unable to be completed.

DOH message to programs:

Please ensure prioritization of any remaining spending in the third and fourth quarters. If you know you are unable to spend all the ARPA funds by the July 31st deadline, please submit an email to the ARPA team at: ALP_ARPA@health.ny.gov or ADHC_ARPA@health.ny.gov no later than February 1st, outlining specific reasons why. Determinations of extension will be on a case-by-case basis.

For providers that have made changes to their spending plans:

Please submit an email to the ARPA team if you have any update or change in the contact person for your organization to ensure timely delivery of survey. If any changes have been made to your spending plan since it was last submitted to the State, please upload the updated spending plan with a summary of the changes as part of your Quarter 2 survey response. These will generally not need prior approval from DOH. You should assume the plan is approved unless you hear otherwise from the DOH ARPA Team.
