Upcoming Deadline: ADHCs Must Spend ARPA Funds by July 31st

(June 2, 2025) Adult day health care (ADHC) programs are reminded that all American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds must be expended by July 31, 2025, unless a program received an approved extension from the Department of Health (DOH). Extension requests were due by Feb. 1, 2025, and no new extension requests will be granted. Note that the Department has indicated that funds can be expended prior to the deadline for services or items delivered after the deadline. Also, note that up to 5 percent of the total award amount may be used for administrative expenses.

Programs must follow the ARPA guidelines and use the awarded money within the previously determined spending categories provided in guidance here, which outlines pertinent information regarding contact updates, quarterly reporting, required documentation, and spending. Unspent funds will be required to be returned to the Department if not expended.
