Advocacy Alert! Support funding for resident service coordinators
LeadingAge NY has developed a State budget proposal to provide funding for resident service coordinators in low-income senior housing facilities. As you will see from the attached proposal, we are calling for $3 million to fund the Resident Advisor Program in the NYS Office for the Aging. This proposal is the result of your desire to have service coordinators on staff that could provide community linkages and social supports to allow seniors to age in place and delay or prevent them from becoming high Medicaid users.
The Senate and the Assembly are in the final days of developing their one-house budget proposals. We need your help if we are going to get this program funded. Please call your Senator and Assemblymember today and ask them to support funding for resident service coordinators. After you have spoken with them, send them this document via email or fax.
